 21 June 2008 was the celebration of the Summer Solstice, and Sharkhunters President HARRY COOPER (1-LIFE-1983) was invited to the huge gathering for this event at the compound of MANFRED ROEDER (1517-LIFE-1990) somewhere in the heart of Germany.  As always, it was well attended and just fantastic!

  
The tables were set in the meeting room for the guests.

 
A great deal of cooking has gone on.  Guests will soon be relaxing on this veranda and elsewhere.

 
But first, it is necessary to raise the flag.  This is the emblem of the organization headed up by MANFRED.  The three torches symbolize - Truth, Honor and Justice.

Then it is time for a quick snack.  Everyone serves himself - no waiters here; just great food!
                      


    Then the Torchlight Procession and the Ceremony

  

  
The steady beat of the drum led the procession from the compound....................

  
           ..............with steady, measured steps...................

 
                             .............to the field for the ceremony.

 
          Songs were sung and speeches were made, then the torches were put to the pyre...............

  
                                ..............and the flames grew higher..............

 
                                 ..................until the night sky was ablaze with the flames and passion...............

 
                                                             ...........................until only the memories remained.................


       The Russians Arrive the Next Day.

After a beautiful moment of classical music by ANNA, some of the group drove (in five cars) to the nearby home of a friend, Konrad Schneider, who was celebrating his 80th birthday.

     The guests are enjoying some great pastries and drinks - and the warm hospitality of a friend's home.
