DON ANGEL ALCAZAR de VELASCO (158-1985)
Japanese "TO" Spy Ring;
DON ANGEL ALCAZAR de VELASCO was a 'Spook', but as we have learned, not a very good one. He began his career working for the Japanese "TO" (Eastern) spy ring then shifted over to the RSDA (Reich Sicherheitsdienst Amt) or basically, the Inteligence arm of the SS.
One of his early mission was
Operation "WILLY" in which DON ANGEL was to
befriend the Duke of Windsor (the abdicated King Edward VIII) and
convince him to leave his safe home in Portugal go on a hunting trip
together into Spain......where a detachment of SS would be waiting to
kidnap the former king. The plan was to trade the Duke back to
England in exchange for a peace treaty with England. The plan
never worked - the Duke remained in Portugal, there was no hunting trip,
Churchill was able to keep the war going.
Some of the letters mentioned appear below.
