This German-made film covers the South African struggle known as the Boer War between the Dutch and the British of a century ago.  This film sets the dress and styles of the time, but also the conflicts and the struggles.  This was a terrible time in history for the combatants, but an even more terrible time for the women and children.  Some scenes are quite gruesome and the ending is very sad.
