RONALD REAGEN (1858-1991)

UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE

The life history of RONALD REAGAN is well known so there is no need to go into it again here. He was a strong supportive Member of Sharkhunters as we see by the message superimposed on his photo left. He was extremely patriotic and that showed through in some of his movie roles. His most famous movie quote came from the movie ” Knute Rockne, All American” when he played Frank Gipp, the Notre Dame quarterback who was near death in the hospital and he said;

“When the team is up against it and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go out there and win just one for the Gipper.”

REAGAN always had a sense of humor as we saw in his debates with Jimmy Carter – “There you go again…

REAGAN would say with a smile as Carter’s face grew darker with pent-up anger. He also joked that his aide should wake him in case of a national emergency, no matter what hour it was or what REAGAN was doing – even if it was in the middle of a Cabinet meeting, they should wake him.

He was a powerful man as we saw during the ‘Cold War’.

Who can ever forget him standing in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin challenging Michael Gorbachev – “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” and shortly thereafter the wall did come down.
