 | | Commissioned 2LT Infantry from the University of Minnesota Army ROTC Program in 1969 (30 years after my father) and proceeded to Ft Benning for IOBC and Airborne School. Served as a platoon leader and Brigade staff officer in the 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Lee Barracks, Mainz Germany. Graduated from US Army Ranger School class 5-72 and served as a mechanized Infantry HHC XO at Fort Benning before being released from active duty whereupon I joined the 205th Inf Bde (Sep-Light), USAR in MN. Served in various command and staff positions there and graduated from the Command and General Staff College. Spent three years as XO of the 336th MP Det (CF) in Rochester, MN and then served in USAR training organizations as an Officer Advanced Course instructor, Command and General Staff College instructor, Combined Armed and Services Staff Course group leader and department director and USAR School enlisted course director. Retired as LTC in 1997. | |  |
