Rear Admiral VLADIMIR GRISHANOV (2533-1992)

Born on June 17, 1945, on the Solovecki Islands in Archangelsk region in a family of a military officer.

Graduated with honors from the Higher Naval Military College as a military engineer-navigator.

From 1968 until 1990 served at the Black Sea fleet, and has risen to the rank of a commander of a formation of above-water ships.

Graduated from the Grechko Naval Military Academy and Military Academy of the General Headquarters of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

From 1993 until 1996 head of the Leningrad Naval Military base.

From 1996 until 1998 deputy chief of the General Headquarters of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces, Admiral.

From 1998 on – vice-governor of Saint-Petersburg.

Married, with two children.

His brother is Vice Admiral VALERI GRISHANOV (2537-1992).
